• Trailer Village: Located in Grand Canyon Village, this RV park provides full hook-ups and allows pets.
• Mather Campground: A popular campground also located within the park that welcomes leashed pets at campsites.
• Desert View Campground: Positioned near the East Entrance, it offers a quieter, more remote pet-friendly camping experience.

Keep in mind that pets are allowed only on paved roads and designated trails above the canyon rim. They are not allowed on trails that descend into the canyon.

Lodging Just Outside the Park

Tusayan (South Rim Gateway Town)

Tusayan, located just minutes from the South Rim entrance, has several pet-friendly hotels and motels. Many properties here accommodate dogs and cats, typically allowing one or two pets per room with an additional nightly fee. Most hotels in this area offer ground-floor pet rooms with easy outdoor access, and some even provide grassy relief areas.

Williams and Flagstaff

For visitors looking for more lodging variety or better value, the towns of Williams (about an hour south of the South Rim) and Flagstaff (around 90 minutes away) offer a wide range of pet-friendly hotels, cabins, and vacation rentals. These locations provide a good base for exploring the park while enjoying wooded settings that are ideal for longer walks with your dog.

Pet Boarding Options

If you want to explore areas where pets are not allowed like inner canyon hikes, you can leave your pet at a nearby kennel. The surrounding South Rim area has pet boarding facilities that offers daytime and overnight care for dogs and cats. Tips for Visiting the Grand Canyon with Pets

• Always keep pets leashed (6 feet or shorter).
• Bring plenty of water, especially during warmer months when temperatures can rise quickly.
